R & S Wedding Day!!! Heidi Jensen Photography | Provo Utah Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, February 8, 2017

My sisters and new brother-in-law's wedding day arrived! My little family got to spend her wedding and the holidays basking in the Texas warmth. It was so nice to be able to go outside and wear shorts! Little did I know how much we needed that little bit of fresh sunshine before coming back to this very snowy Utah winter.  Anyways....back to their wedding. It was great! They were married in the Houston Texas LDS Temple. They had a small beautiful reception later that evening with adorable little bundtinies served in like 10 different flavors! So yummy. Congrats to R & S!

Bride and Groom Photos with R & S | Heidi Jensen Photography | Provo Utah Photographer

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

As I mentioned in a previous post my sister was engaged and thankfully the stars aligned and I was able to go to Texas to do a Bride and Groom session with them before their wedding.  I scouted out locations from afar and I was sure I had found the perfect spot, but the day before our session I had to head over there just to make sure.  And it was meant to be.  Hermann Park in Houston, Texas turned out to be the perfect location for their session.  My sister is such a beautiful bride.  Her makeup, hair, and dress were just gorgeous.  Just take a look and drool over how flawless this couple is!

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

R is my sister and she recently got engaged to S!!!!!!!!!!!  We are so excited!!!  My little girl was so excited about their engagement that she was telling one of her little friends about it and I overheard her say "and he even let her pick out her own ring! How sweet is that?!?!?!"  Excited for them is probably an understatement. We made a trip down in May to Texas to visit family and while we were there, I was able to do their engagement photos and go wedding dress shopping with my sister!

These are my absolute favs from our session together!

I can not wait for their wedding! Bring on the dresses, flowers, make-up, food, and photos!!!

Monday, February 8, 2016

I was so excited to photograph P & J's December wedding at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple!  Even though there was a blizzard going on here in Utah County they were troopers.  I secretly LOVED getting photograph them in the blizzarding snow!  It was a dream come true for me to photograph a wedding in winter!  I am so happy with how all their photos turned out. It just so happened that some friends of theirs got married on the same day shortly after them, so we were able to snap a group shot!

First United Methodist Church Pipe Organ Salt Lake City, Utah | Heidi Jensen Photography

Thursday, December 10, 2015

I had the wonderful opportunity to take take photos of the new Pipe Organ being built for the First United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.  FUMC will be hosting a dedication on January 10th, 2016 at 10:30am and 7pm; 200 S 200 E in Salt Lake City, Utah and all are welcome. The Organ was featured in the Diapason, December 2015; with photos by yours truly! There is great history in this organ.
The Pipe organ in the First United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah has been in its original location since 1906, thus known as one of the oldest organs in the area. The original organ had a two-manual console with 33 ranks of pipes.  The organ was constructed by the George Kilgen and Sons Organ Company (1873-1939) of St. Louis, Missouri.  Kilgen was a major organ builder, and at the time, constructed many noted organs, including the instruments at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The earliest photo of the Sanctuary is dated “Easter 1915.” It reveals a handsome case with stenciled fa├žade pipes (all speaking) covering an opening sixteen feet wide and twenty feet high. The pipes were stenciled and were various shades of green in color. The organ console sat near the pipes so that the organist had a view of the congregation. The stage area was open. To get to the choir loft below the stained glass windows, members had to pass through the organ chamber – the door can be seen in the middle of the photo. FUMC has members who recall as children “running through the pipes” to get to the choir loft.
