Ethan & Rebecca Wedding | Heidi Jensen Wedding Photographer

Ethan & Rebecca's families live here in Pennsylvania, but they both are going to college in Utah.  They came back to the East coast to have a beautiful wedding Washington DC and Maryland.  They were married at the end of December on an unusually warm day (all this cold has made up for that warm December). It was so wonderful to not have to worry about snow or nasty weather that day!  The sun was shining so bright! They were married in the beautiful Washington DC Temple (for more information click HERE). In the LDS culture these ceremonies are sacred, so photography is not allowed inside. We did take advantage of the gorgeous weather and took several photos outside.

Ethan's family lived in Germany for a number of years.  A German Tradition after a wedding ceremony is for the Bride and Groom to then cut a log in half representing the first hard obstacle they have to accomplish together in their marriage. They had all their friends and family help out too.  They are then going to have the log turned into a stool.

We then made a stop at a small fine art museum and took some photos with the wedding party!

They had a small ceremony and reception at an LDS church building in Maryland.  The ceremony was just to tell people about the meaning of their marriage ceremony they had at the temple.  They also did something that I thought was a cool idea.  Sometimes we go to wedding and we either know just the bride or just the groom and not both.  During the ceremony they then had someone talk a little about each person and so you were able to get to know both the bride and groom a little more.  It was sweet.

The reception was beautiful.  They transformed a gymnasiam into this beautiful reception hall.

The groom had a brother who is on an LDS mission and was not able to be there, so the brother sent in a video congratulating them on their marriage and played them a song on a french horn.

They had dinner, dancing, and cake!

I love this picture of the bride's parents dancing!

I caught the bridesmaids and groomsmen in the act of decorating the car.

They left the reception in style with sparklers and a cool car!

Congrats to Ethan & Rebecca!

I wanted to take a moment and share a picture from all my sessions in 2013.  A few of the session I still have not put up on the blog, but these are photos that I have already shared on social media.  I loved the opportunity I had to photograph these new babies to families to weddings!  Thank you all for letting me capture these sweet precious memories for you and your family.
